I have a 2014 SR figure it should at lease have to remove the soft/semi-rigid tank bag and the rigid plastic under that to install the 2017 locking tank.

2
Does anyone know if the 2017 locking tank is compatible with the previous model years?  This will probably be a better question for the Zero reps that cruise this forum.  And also if the lock and start key are the same.

I looked at my bike SR2014 and the rear swingarm has a recessed bolt and nut and I'm not sure if it will work either .  But you can always drill some more holes, if the bolt pattern on the access design can be copied it should work.

I've been looking for something like that too but with the addition of the top case the rear splash is not so bad.  I also didn't realize that a non universal splash guard can fit.  How about these not so expensive.

I have a Givi Trekker 46L with wingrack 2 and saw all the limits but the speed limit is new to me.  I'm pretty sure it is for liability reason.  I put 30 to 40 lbs consistently in the box.  Once I put a box of quarters, dimes, nickel and pennys in it, the handling was really bad but I manage to make it to the business 1 mile up the road.  I have to retighten the bolts but other than that I don't see any damage.

The consensus is that although Zero has done what they can with Chademo the vast majority of charging stations are NOT compatible.  This is because of the voltage that the Zero motorcycle require and although it is part of the Chademo charging standards most choose to not incorporated into their stations because they are focused more on cars.

Does anyone know what kind of connectors Zero uses on their throttles, or a possible source for them?  I found some Dorman connectors online that look somewhat similar, but I don't know for sure - thanks.

Ray

Maybe can point you in the right direction.  Zero uses a lot of the same connectors and such from Buell since I was able to buy a cigarette charging port from Buell that worked for the Zero.  I would look at Buell stuff before trying to compare connectors randomly but then again this is for the throttle so it maybe different.

I have a Vectrix bi-directional throttle that I'm going to test to see whether I can achieve the same performance as the separate throttle and regen I have on my Zero SR now.

Has anyone tried to add a Vectrix throttle to their Zero and if successful any specific aspects to take into account eg calibration etc.

I know the voltages provided by the Vectrix throttle and how to map that into the Sevcon controller throttle and footbrake functions so that part should be fine.

Thanks,
Dave

I research this idea but there are some problems.  The Vectrix throttle/regen is nice there is a positive stop before the regen begins not sure if it is variable regen but I think that can be achieved.  I'm not sure if there is a supply of the part since Vectrix is not around anymore.  Also I'm not sure if the part fits where the current throttle fits and these are the things I can see from the surface.  Plus all the interface dgh853 was talking about but I would be ready interested if follow this.

If I recall correctly the part is a potentiometer with a center tap and this is different then what Zero uses.  There was a schematic of the part but I can't find it i think it was over on the visvoltage forum.

Good luck

Terry, I have a 2014 SR. When the battery starts to go south (hopefully ten years from now or more), I'll probably just sell it used and get a new whatever is available then. But maybe not. Maybe it will be worth replacing the battery pack and keeping it on the road. Wouldn't it be nice to know the latest and greatest battery pack available would work, be affordable, and increase my range and performance?

Terry this is what my thought on the matter but I believe it is mostly warranty work.  And they are correct in 10 to 15 years you would just buy a new bike.  But i think it also  is whatever works for you and my main concern in this type of situation is cost.

The reflector bowl must have become detached from the adjustment screw. I've taken mine apart;  those two pieces just clip together.

You might be able to fix yours if you get enough leverage on the reflector bowl (trying to tilt it up) and it should snap back onto the adjustment screw.

Hey thanks Dan that is what I'm looking for be working on it when I get time.

...Uh this makes me wish my battery becomes warranty work...and then maybe not :o :D
