Good morning!
Im new to this forum, but recently acquired a 2014 zero s minus the battery for an incredible deal. I wanted to possibly use this on another build as a few things are missing like the key switch, kickstand switch and possibly a few other small, but assuming big things. I have removed the wiring harness, motor, dc to dc reducer, controller, throttle, on/off switch and what Im assuming to be the the bms. Its looks to be roughly 3"x 7"(without putting a tape on it) black box. Is there any info or can anyone assist me in getting this operational? Thanks and I look forward to any and all responses!

Hi, welcome aboard.
They only way to get a new battery from Zero is through a dealer. While it's there they could go through the bike and tell you what all it needs.
Sadly this will cost way more than it's worth most likely. The black box you mentioned is likely the Main Bike Board or MBB.
Sounds like it's better for a parts bike for a running bike. People will buy those components like motor and controller and all for their own projects.
Good luck if you decide to restore it. It might be cheaper than I think and it's worth a try or call to find out.
If you want to part it out you can post down in the For Sale section of the forum.

Is it a 2013 or 2014? It might be the charging control unit CCU, but that existed only the 2013

Its a 2014 and Im wanting to use it as a parts bike. Just need a little guidance to get it going. Ive got everything set up on a bench so any and all input will be helpful! Thanks

What you're describing sounds like the MBB which stands for Main Bike Board.
