Title: SR 2015 Showa fork ring seal
Post by: Djihatch on June 09, 2020, 02:54:09 AM
Hello !

I have an oil leak on my left fork part. To make it short, I usually service this kind of things myself but, this time I really don't want to do it...
I've searched a lot to find ring seal size for that fork, but no way to find it (and Zero didn't answered me at all).
I want my local dealer (wich is not zero) to repair it but as the SR is not in database, he can't order the ring seals.
I guess that those parts are common so someone would be kind enough to give me the inner and outer diameter and also the height of this seal ?

And, if you don't mind, I have another question : If I have to refill the fork, if it takes too long to get my bike repaired, do I have to unscrew directly the caps on the top of the fork or do I have to release the "Pre-Strain" bolts (red ones on the top of the fork) and then remove the caps ?

Thanks I lot for your help. I'm stuck with this leaking problem...

Here’s my post about the oil. Should be a standard Showa 41mm USD seals.

Thanks !

I already read it but I thought thath it was only for FX bikes. Great to know that the process is the same... So thank you again.

If anybody is kind enough to give me ring seal dimensions...

Have a nice day.

I think these will work.

My bike is an FX but with SR forks, 17” wheels, etc. the forks are similar except for the length, lower lug for brake caliper mount, and the valving/ spring rate I assume.

Thank you,

I can read that there is only wipers without seals in the package... Am I reading it wrong ?

I can’t tell if that is seals or just wipers. It was just an example. Those dimensions should be correct though 41mm x 54mm. Showa seals that size should work. I think that most of the USD Showa 41mm forks use the same seals. As I stated in my post, I didn’t change mine as they weren’t leaking. This is an educated guess!!

OK, I'll give this a try.

Thank you again !
