Hi Guys,
I can have a good deal on a new, demo, 2012 XU LSM and it look like they are ''Locked'' to 70 kmh (45 mph..) here in Canada :(
I'm sure there is an easy way to unlock this without to change anything ''Mechanic'' ?
Do you know something who may help me ?
Thanks in advance !

Probably a main bike board setting. Any Zero dealer should be able to help you out.
-
Thanks for the response... But I doubt they will want to do it .. its a Law here probably .. :(
Thats why I would try to it by myself so if I sell it later, I'll be able to unapply the modification
*sorry for my bad english..
Thanks again

I can do it with the 2011, very easy with the alltrax controller or 2011 MBB,
Maybe you could ask to electric cowboy for the 2012 MBB hack ;)

the 2012 need an expensive program to be ''Unlock'' the 2011 is more easy, but less mileage and power (in what I did understand)

I have the 2011 xu-lsm i want to unlock it or re-flash to more power, nothing crazy, just would like to get the regular xu speed out of her. I have RS to USB adapter and are familiar with flashing ardiuno boards but could use some pointer on where and how we connect, load procedures/software required.
Thanks Jerry

Jerry, what top speed you get from your 2011XU? I also have a 2011 XU, registered as LSM, but the dealer told me it is not restricted. I got 85kph top.

I contacted Zero tonight they said they could un lock the LSM, I may just may have send them my MBB for reprogramming. Sign a release for the modification.

My dealer told me they are able to remove the 70km restriction but then it would no longer legally be a LSM anymore and a motor cycle licence would be required.
I can get to 80+ kmh when I need to though

I have my bike licence, I never wanted the LSM model but the price was right $4200 with 20 mile on her. My insurance company wont insure the LSM model but the will insure the straight UX.

I had no issue with insurance for my LSM in Alberta.
To unlock the LSM limit the deal would charge me $400

In Nova Scotia there is no limited motorcycle drivers licence. There for you need full licence no need for a LSM. Sent my board back to Zero they did for free. just had pay for the freight.

Free is good!
Would you mind letting me know how the upgrade changes performance such as range?

I got my MBB back today. Awesome service Zero, no charge just payed the shipping.
FYI I noticed my LSM model has a different sprocket from the standard xu. standard xu has 61t and the LSM has the 71t sprocket. This is the same final drive as the off road X model.

The re-flash of the MBB never made much change, sprocket did.
I was playing with the 3 different final drive sprockets i have now. With the highest gearing 15T \ 71T sprockets I'm getting 77 kmh and range of 20 km. I was wondering what an average range should be?
