Title: I pulled the plug...
Post by: Nukie on May 05, 2013, 01:55:59 AM
I pulled the plug (pun intended). Bought my Zero S 11.4 today. LOVE IT! It shall be called Pikachu, after the all electric Pokemon.

Awesome Nukie, looks great, I'm jealous.
I'm also a bit shocked, I figured after CO dropped the tax rebate you'd give up!

Have fun with your new bike, I am jealous too!

BTW
Take care with your open shoestring!
I will not impress if you stop with tangled shoestrings and topple down ;D

Paul, CO dropped the tax rebate? I was not aware of that. This doc seems to indicate the the credit would be available through 2016...

That doc is dated 2/12.  Check out this one dated 12/12:

Did the dealer talk about rebates?

I just about keeled over.  I wish I was as clever with naming. :)  Mine is all black and Darth Zero seemed apt for the existing geometry.

Shoot. Oh well.... No the dealer did not mention tax rebates at all. I did the math on my taxes this year to see what the rebate would have been and though the credit had been up to $6,000, I would have only qualified for a much smaller amount. I have no regrets, however. Hopefully I can still get something back from Federal.

The federal 10% credit should still apply for all bikes bought in 2013.

Looks great nukie.  No doubt you'll have a ball.

Anyone else thinking that the 2013 bikes could really do with having the side stand and pillion footpegs powdercoated black?

Little things like that really stick out. I got the passenger peg kit for my '12 DS and the freaking pegs are cheap chrome. Talk about an eyesore.

Third day of commuting and I cannot stop grinning! The bike and riding have been just amazing. I do agree, now that you mention it, the kickstand should be black. It would complete the look.

Question about regen braking: Does the regen kick in when I let off on the throttle, or only when I apply the brakes?

Its both,  you get some regen when you let off the throttle.  Then when you apply the brakes a second higher level of regen kicks in.  I find that when i feather the rear brake I only hear the pads grazing the disk and its actually the motor slowing me down.
