Hi all. I'm new here. I attempted to search back through previous posts to ensure I'm not asking something that has already been answered. Hopefully I didn't overlook a thread. Anyway, as the subject says, I'm interested to know what people have been paying for their 2015 FX models.
I have three dealers within three hours of me. I've not yet called any of them for a price, and only one has a price listed on their site. It is exactly MSRP, and I'm sure they will add on dealer fees in addition to tax and title. Before I talk to the dealers, I'm hoping you guys will arm me with some knowledge. Are these being sold for less than MSRP, or do they stand firm on MSRP?
Thanks in advance.

Firm. You won't get a deal unless it's the previous model year. Although 15s have an across the board price reduction for battery tech reasons.
-
My dealer ( On Any Moto Tucson Arizona ) mentioned that the 2015's will be demo priced for 'end of model year.' I didn't pin him down on exactly what that pricing would be, but should be a 'useful' amount. Where are you located- nice to have 3 dealers!

That's interesting, and thanks for the info. I saw a recent tweet from Zero that they play to announce 2016 models in Oct/Nov, so I suppose the smart thing to is wait until then anyway. I'm in north-central North Carolina. According to Zero's website, there is a dealer is Charlotte, Raleigh, and Virginia. None are in my backyard, but all three are reachable.

It is likely that zero will announce the new models at the AIM expo in mid October.

They actually mentioned themself that they will do that during AIM.

Buy a used one - I found a demo 2013 FX 5.7 for $5300 with only 89 miles on it. With that savings you can buy a lot of accessory gear: High Power chargers, riding gear, carbon fiber helmet, lightning options, hand guards etc...

I bought the 2013 FX 5.7, and, I am very pleased with it. I did so, because Zero had said that they were finished with yearly overhauls making the previous model years obsolete.
So, Zero finds a "better" connection for the batteries, and, the 2013 FX is the ONLY year that uses this connection. various components will interchange, just not the batteries.
Big deal, how much could it be for two little batteries. My hope is that Zero adopts something along the line of the ICE manufacturers and do a major update / upgrade every
5 years or so, with the years in between being mostly superficial. My next Electric bike will probably be first or second year of the next voltage jump.
-
Interesting. My research had me believing there were significant differences between model years.
-
In 2013 Zero committed to remain with the same frame and basic structure. However, they continued to evolve and improve their product.
From 2013 forward, the bikes all operate at the same voltage (higher than 2012 and before).
2014 brought the SR model and power tank.
2015 brought slightly increased range and much better suspension, brakes and tires.

I paid 10k even with demo model pricing. It was three months old and had 180 miles.
