Title: 2014DS won't keep it's clock
Post by: wijnand71 on August 27, 2016, 08:31:30 PM
My 2014 DS won't remember it's time since I got it (2 weeks ago). It was a showroom model and therefore maybe not programmed.. Each time it's charge state reaches 100% it resets it's clock to 0:00. Or it seems related to the charge state. On a normal trip with some stops it keeps the right time on the clock. Even when the key is removed.
Edit: When I stop for longer than 2 hrs AND no power is connected, the clock will stop. And continue when I power up the bike again. After a stop more than 10hrs (long working day) and no power is connected the clock says 00:00 and has lost its time completely.
Can't find a solution in the manual. Anyone?

I have never experienced that problem with my 2014 S. All I can say is that the clock gains about a minute every couple of months.  There must be a glitch in your programming.  Perhaps a firmware re-flash is needed?

Or you can do what I do.  I don't look at the clock on the display, but instead I bought an inexpensive analog stick-on clock made for shower stall usage and stuck it to my right rear-view mirror where my shoulder reflection is located.  ;)  You can buy these clocks from Amazon for around $10, or you can buy an expensive "Formotion" clock designed specifically for automobile use for $60.  Your choice.   ;)

Or he could get the clock fixed by a Zero dealer.

When I removed both batteries from my '15 FX I think the clock stayed set. There must be another power source button cell or whatever located in the instrument cluster? Anybody know?

UPDATE: meanwhile the bike went to the dealer, got an software update but unfortunately it didn't solve the clock problem. I will call them tomorow again.
When going through the display menu setting on the dash I passed two error codes: 45 and 47. Anyoune know what these mean? Coult find it in the manual nor online..

Error codes are in chapter 6.6 in the '15 user manual for my SR. Both 45 and 47 are "normal", not errors. 45 means your kickstand is down, 47 that you are charging (or not charging, forgot). They should disappear once you are ready to ride it, kickstand up and ready to go.
