Title: Zero Wheels To Die For
Post by: Low On Cash on March 14, 2017, 01:31:25 AM
Hey guys - If your looking for Bling, this might be the best $2500 you can spend to make your Zero. These wheels are super special, look how unique the spoke retainers are.  I ordered a set of these Kineos for my BMW and waiting on word from the factory to see what would fit my DSR Zero. I just placed a call and should know something by tomm.

This is some Killer stuff!

I think they would look sweet in blue on an SR or DSR but....Pricey.  If you do the upgrade I will be interested to see the results and find out the final costs.

looks cool... I like that you can have spoked wheels and tubeless tires without having to seal the spokes...

but 2500 dollars on bling is never the "best" mod for a bike.

Depends. I've seen plenty of crappy Honda Civics with 20 inch custom rims, giant spoilers, "custom" Folgers can exhaust, and sound systems that cost more than the car. [emoji47]

Well, my engineer/geek heart raced when seeing these absolutely beautifully crafted wheels. This is a perfect example of engineering porn, and if I would care about how the bike looks and had the money these would definitely be on my must-have list ;)

LOL the only problem with these wheels is they would get more attention than the Zero!

Very nice wheels but I can't see how you would adjust the spoke tension on the hub and rim set.
I know the whole point is the looks but looks without function says stay off the road and at the show.  Do you think they just thread into the rim "rollers".

It looks like there are allen nuts on the hub side, presumably for tightening spokes?

the outer edge rim barrels are threaded... the hub ends have allen heads... So you turn the entire spoke like is a long thin screw to tension it.
