Today my DS2014 stopped charging in my garage around 54%. After some investigation I found the back side of the C14 power inlet completely melted on one pole.
I noticed earlier that my power cord was getting unusually warm on the plug side. I noticed it already when I bought the bike, but it always worked and only the last two months I had to replace the powercord becourse of a bit melted plug.
I took everything apart, and cleaned the melted wire, shortened it a bit and soldered it direct to the pole of the chasis part. Then I applied some heat shrink around it like it was original.
Seemed that the Amp connector wasn't crimped well on the wire in the factory..
Still amazing that this simple heat shrink managed to withstand all rain showers I drove in lately 8) The chassis part of this connector is just a €1 piece at the local electronic shop..

Don't know.. Maybe add a link to this thread when people encounter a hot cord (or just one pole) which is not caused by dirty contacts..

Sorry to read/learn that Zero is using sta-kon crimp connectors for this application.
In my experience (HVAC service tech) these are only good up to 10 amps. (for longevity, not manufactures rating).
