Good luck with that, I've been scouring the interwebs for hours. Even pics haven't shown up yet. Tweet when you find something.

I wonder if this is because of the quantya's use of the jack reduction setup? can it change the gearing? the motor feeds a shaft I think that drives another sprocket? I'd like to see some detail pics of the motor/swingarm

Sounds like Mike Metzger and Brian Denison (dirtrider mag) rode the Quantyas.  That probably helped.  Don't know who rode the Zeros.

Actually maybe Wolfman Luggage pulled off the upset :)

Here is the scoop.  Brian Roth took 1st and Dave Lodermier took second both on Quantya.
I myself took bragging rights as the oldest rider 42 and that was the first time I ever raced on a bike,  I brought up the rear.

Good times,  were had by all.

ahhh, this is a very nice system, gives a smaller rear sprocket, and no need for chain slack. My eb has the motor mounted on the swingarm to remove the need for chain slack, but this is a far better idea

Thanks for the update Eric!  Glad you got to race.

Here is a summary of the race.  Picasso, you might be on to something.  The article does give credit to gearing on the quantyas...

Quote
We wrongly assumed that the lighter and more powerful Zero X would easily win the race, but it seems the beefier components of the Quantya Track gave it a significant advantage. Quantya was able to narrow the performance gap by running short gearing.

I own and have ridden both bikes alot. The quantya is a much more comfortable ride. Quantya is far more durable and just does everything better than the zero. So i am happy to see the performance differences exposed to the public via this Vegas race.

Very interesting to hear your input Silent.

There are some very interesting comments from owners of both bikes on this AutoBlogGreen article...
