Replacing blinkers on an SR/S (only mechanical)
« on: April 10, 2021, 12:04:16 AM »

Hi Does anyone have some guidance on how to remove the plastic cowling and how to dismantle the rear to be able to change the blinkers?

Mine are already LED bulbs in the old housing and the software has already been set for LED's.

But Zero is not happy with my own bulbs and to be fully eligible for warranty I would need Zero LED blinkers...

Thinking about changing them myself but not entirely sure on how to remove the front plastics.

Anyone who has already done this? Or has the Zero installation manual for these?

They cannot require you to change the bulbs.  This is them trying to put it on your dime to prove/disprove their interaction with the system.

What's the warranty service?

I don't think the Zero manual has a dismantle of the SR/S yet.

When I bought the bike I asked the dealer to switch the software flag for the LED blinkers so I could install LED bulbs in the original blinker housings.

We agreed and that has happened.

A few days later my dealer called me to explain he got reprimanded by Zero for doing this without selling the Zero approved blinkers. They said that if the blinkers i had fitted somehow killed the MBB there would be no warranty.

So now I have cole to the agreement with the dealer that I will get a discount when I buy the Zero blinkers and I will fit them myself (to keep cost down).

In the US they have to prove this happened.

What you have described is a crime in California.  A small one, but a crime.

I live in Belgium. As far as I know this is not a crime. I asked the dealer to switch the software flag before purchasing he said it would be no problem.

These are the instructions for the SRF. Probably similar. https://fotoleer.files.wordpress.com/2021/01/zm10-08294-1_d7.pdf

Thanks :)  but I would need the part where it explains how to get the front plastics off and what rear plastics need to be removed (top or bottom plastics). Just a service manual really.

I'll see when I get the call from the dealer if he can give me some pointers. I have some idea how to tackle this but if someone already did this they can maybe give some advice?
