LOL. That is pretty much what my bike sounds like without a sound mod. I totally feel like I am in a sci fi movie riding it.

Damn, that is awesome, and I want that. If it is SoundRacer's product, it'd be good to know how to install it and how loud it is in the vicinity, because I would like pedestrians and bicyclists to be able to tell where I am and how fast I'm going.

I agreed a couple of months ago that a Tie Fighter sound would be great, but this pulsing style sound seems to give a better idea of speed to the casual listener.

Please send more details!

That sounds like someone found out a way to make a Zero sound like a Brammo.   ;)

What about the Jetsons?

Here is the noise that Nukie's new bike should make.

Love the Jetson saucer sound. That would be hilarious.

LOL at the Pikachu song. Think I will pass on that one. But my horn should say "Pika pika!"

As fun as this is, it really is a good idea to have a custom running sound for the bike. It could be turned off, turned on depending on your preference. And you could download the sound through bluetooth to the bike. Everyone could have their own unique custom sound. Great idea for a third party add-on, if it does not already exist.

Um, OK. Back to the original video. The bike was not modded to make this sound. It is the actual sound of the bike. I thought it sounded like mine.  :) If you read the YouTube description it says:

"Testing out a zero electric motorcycle I have concluded that this is my new favourite sound in the universe. I love the sound of a fast motor bike and a big V8 but you've got to admit, this is pretty damn cool. My first thought was a pod racer from star wars."

Mine does not pulse like that.  :o  It does have a few pulses if you accelerate hard from a stop, but that's like three pulses and only transient. Also, it's nowhere near loud enough that I'd expect a microphone to pick it up. I think there's some unique audio engineering going on for that video if that's the case.

Isn't it a 2012?

mine is doing (sometimes) some resonant pulsing at low speed. Even if I have the wheel lifted and rotate the rear wheel by hand I can hear this resonant sound some how amplified by/in the battery box :-\.

Some times it sounds cool but sometimes a bit queer, I have realized people turn there heads if it happens. Under the Helmet it is often hard to estimate how loud the bike really is.

And as final proof, I give you Zero's own sound video.   :) My bike makes all these sounds at some point.

It is interesting how much quieter my 2012 model is compared with the 2013 bike.  I guess it must be the new motor and maybe its cooling fins amplify the motor's sound.

But it does sound a lot like the Brammo Empulse R that I rode.

I wonder what plans the government has for the EV "safety" sound?  I get a little worried that they will come up with some sort of sound requirement that we won't like.   ::)
