Does that include the 5k trade in you mentioned in another post?

He gave me $5000 off for my 2010 Zero S- so my cost was only $5000! I'll owe $500 in tax when I register in Arizona. Plus I get to drive to Boise to deliver my trade and pickup new.  What are some of the sights I should see while I'm up there?

Wow, nice work. Could you imagine the uptake if they were all priced this well...

I notice that Google Maps shows the shortest route going through Las Vegas.
If you pass through, on either leg, stop and say hello.
The Vegas route takes you about 5 minutes from my work,
or 10 minutes from my house. If interested, send me a
PM and I will give you my information.

That is a good deal... We are in the process of trading in a 2010 DS here in Australia.  I think Zero is mopping up all the prototype production bikes, that are just too difficult to support now.  They offered us a pretty good deal too on the DS 10 for a DS 14.  Couldn't say no....

I called the place in Boise too,  but it looks like Chris beat me to it!  Chris, did you use a trade in too?  I have a dead 2010 DS that i was going to see if they'd take,  but i don't know if they were using the Zero trade in thing or not. If not, it doesn't seem likely that they would take one that is not  functional. Anyway, if anyone knows of a similar deal at another dealer somewhere, please let me know!

Well, I would recommend that you talk to Zero head office.  If you were an early adopter and your 2010 is dead, then ask them for the best solution in your situation, "what would they recommend you do."  That's what I did, they decided a trade in would be better all round.  They can shop around for you and see if they can find you a good deal with any of the dealers, to get your bike off the street and get you on a bike they can support.  We are in Australia and there was no trade in deal on offer at all here currently but there was also no real parts or service support for the 10 in Australia either.  Zero organized a trade in for a 2014 DS on our DEAD 2010 DS.  That was quite generous.  If you want to keep the bike then you can still ask Zero for assistance in keeping it on the road and they will help, if you are nice about it..... They were going to send me another Agni motor at one point for the cost of postage and then decided to offer the trade in.  In our case though, the bike had died during the warranty period and I think that did encourage them to go the extra yards... Plus they do already offer a generous trade in there, that they don't here in Australia. Plus here at first, the Zero dealers said they didn't want our 2010 at all, it wasn't until I talked to Zero that the situation changed, especially when I asked for help to fix and support it, I think the dealers here had little idea about how hard it was to support the 2010 now.

Hope you get it sorted,

Cheers,
Cam

Hi Magpie!  I did not use a trade in, although if they offer it again in the future I will definitely consider an upgrade in 2 years.  I'm not sure if they would take yours but I definitely hope you find another one to trade it in on.  I was very surprised this dealer had that much room to discount on theirs, makes one wonder if others could do something similar.  Best of luck!

Thanks for the info!  I'm also curious about how they could discount them so much,  and especially with giving the $5k trade in value.  I wonder if they are somehow using Zero's trade in program with their in stock units. ..
