Insurance in Ontario
« on: November 07, 2015, 02:48:10 AM »

Anyone here have insurance in Ontario?  I got a quote from TD insurance for a 2015 Zero FX and somehow, it's rated as a 650cc according to underwriting's best guess.  650 seems pretty high and rhis shoots up my cost to 1250$ a year.  Where do you guys go for insurance?

I'm in Peterborough and get my insurance through aviva, $800 / year, they also said that it's classed as a 650cc, I'll dispute it at renewal time

I am in Oshawa, I use "The Personal" it's an affinity program by DesJardins.
$271/yr inclusive.
They rate my 2011 S as a 399cc, it's a bit much. I would compare it to a 250cc.

Well, I finally provided TD with a VIN and they've decided to increase the cc's to 750 and the price to 1450.  That's a little discouraging.

I was with Intact on my 2013 S, and they wanted to insure it as a 650. I disputed and they ended up classing it as a 350

I live in Quebec and my 2011 DS was rated 125CC and cost me 233$/year in insurance. THat's less than a mopped!

Now my 2012 S cost me about the same and they rated it 9kW..  while it is a real 30kW burst  lol

With my new SR controller it jump to 40kW... but still rated 9kW.. the only cons is that officially i can not drive it on the highway.. I mean... officially   ;)

I am in Las Vegas as well. 2012 XU, 2013 FX 5.7, and 2003 Suzuki SV 650.  TOTAL annual premium  $376 FULL Coverage.
The Premium for the FX is $75. I have been with Progressive for many years, and, qualify for pretty much
every discount that they offer.
One thing that people may not realize is that many ( most ? ) insurance companies ( at least in the U.S. )
Use your credit score as part of their quote. Check with companies you are checking to see if this may be
the case.
