Justin: I do hope you're not experiencing overheating with your SR. I thought your riding style would keep you well away from those limits, even with the occasional twist of the wrist. Are you doing more journeys at higher speed now you have much more range available? I hope you're not wishing you got the IPM motor.

Ha, the only reason I was riding slow that day was to maximise range...

I rode the return journey on the SR from SB to home at 70-75 all the way with power to spare. Riding at speed limits I have quite a bit of additional range (about an extra 30 miles) Not got the motor to overheat yet, though oncebthe roads dry a bit I know a couple of country lanes where I managed to get the S to go into thermal cut back, so I can do a comparison there.

This is a great system (could not be simpler...) good job!

I would like to ask a question though. Where is the motor temp sensor located?
I ask the question just in case it is located underneath, so, there could be a risk of lowering the temp more where the sensor is located, while the other side of the motor suffers higher temperature with the risk it represents for those magnets.

The sensor is on the inside of the motor.

After much discussion in other threads, I think the general consensus was that the thermistor is in the stator and that the rotor temperature is estimated based on that (and lots of testing by Zero presumably).

Hopefully someone knows exactly where the thermistor lives in the stator. There could be more than one.
