DIY ebike conversion
« on: July 03, 2016, 06:57:17 AM »

Hi.  IM upgrading my bike to an ebike using a DIY kit.  I live in an area that doesn't have anywhere to get this done.  I've got it all together and the battery turns on the LED, but I can't get the pedal assist to kick in.  I disconnected the brake inhibitor so it's not that.
MAybe it's something obvious...with pedal assist, why do you need a thumb throttle if the motor automatically kicks in when you're pedalling?  I turn the battery on and start riding and pedal assist should just kick in correct?
I've asked the seller where I bought it for support but it hasn't helped.  It is a front wheel motor hub with PAS.  Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Lisa

You might want to try this question on endless-sphere.com

This board is more focused on motorcycles instead of ebikes.
