Thanks SR. I was hoping others might contribute too. I'll keep adding links when I think of them.

We need a official brake pad replacement thread

You might find something in this thread useful:

What have you done with your 2013 brakes
http://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=2889

I found this too:

2014 Zero SR constant and loud squeaking rear brakes
http://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=3498

It's worth doing a search or two, but if you've already done that, then it's worth starting a new topic. [emoji4]

BRAKES 2012-2014

Try to not use synthetics pads or "sintered", but organic or semi sintered ones…sintered are better for very aggressive riding/braking, but mostly are noisy
Sand the pads (in the 2012 models keep the sintered pads. the brake pump is very weak)
Grease the back of the pads lightly with copper grease
Make sure the brake fluid is in good shape and the type/specs you need, if in doubt replace with fresh one (not form an already opened bottle)
Make sure you do not have the little brake fluid deposit over-filled (top), there has to be some empty space, or your bike will be lightly "braked" and your disk/pads will deteriorate prematurely...and you will get less range
Check caliper position
Check caliper springs if any
Check wheel,. Is it true?
Sand the disk, it could have lightly crystalized
Make sure all the bolts in the system (including wheel) are properly tightened

After all of this has been preformed and before riding clean everything exposed to dirt/grease with isopropyl alcohol

When riding again try to not brake very aggressively the firsts 20-30 miles

It is a question of time that Zero will add double front disk brakes in the road bikes range. Single disk is not recommended for the kind of speeds/overall weight the new models are reaching. This last statement is coming from an expert  ;)

Another advice is to remove/replace the rear brake spring. In the 2012-14 (Have not checked the 15-16 models) there is an over designed spring like the one you would use in a dirt bike…you do not need that for a road bike…actually there is a kind of spring inside the brake pump, so the external one is just to keep the foot-pedal without rattling.
Test the rear brake. Doesn't it brake better now?  ;)

Fast charging DS MY2015
The results are a bit disappointing I'm afraid:

Zero MBB log

Serial number      b'2015_mbb_ca1a29_00460'
VIN                b'538SD7Z20FCB04743'
Firmware rev.      40
Board rev.         3
Model              b'DS'

---

Perhaps you can try the other option in the Zero app and download the MBB and Battery logs?  The app says it takes about ten minutes and you end up with two 128Kb files.  I've attached the results from when I tried it as log.txt and log1.txt

Here are some instructions explaining what I did to run the utility:

1.  Download and install the Windows Python client 3.5.1 from here: https://www.python.org/downloads/
2.  Create a folder on your C:\ drive called py
3.  In that folder create a file called py.bat with the following contents:

cd C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python35-32\
pause
python zero_log_parser.py c:\py\Erasmo.bin -o c:\py\Erasmo.txt
pause

Replace <UserName> with your own Username on your PC.  You should be able to browse to the relevant folder and find a file called python.exe - just so you know you've got the path correct.

4.  Copy your .bin file to c:\py and rename it to something useful.
5.  Edit your py.bat file to change the Erasmo.bin and Erasmo.txt files accordingly.
6.  Don't forget the save your .bat file
7.  Double-click on your py.bat file
8.  You should get a screen like the attached screenshot
9.  Open the txt file in your favourite text editor.  I like Notepad++.

I'm sure there is probably a more elegant way of doing this, but this is what worked for me.  I hope this helps and good luck with that CHAdeMO kit! :-)
