aftermarket controller on vx-1
« on: February 02, 2017, 07:47:50 AM »

would it be possible to run a vectrix motor from  an aftermarket controller like a Kelly KHB12201

I don't understand how the motor wires up with the 12 wires off the encoder does it even need that or will it run with just the phase wires kinda like an RC motor

I'd hate to buy a new controller if it's not gonna work

Hey I just wanted to post that I have a VX-1 with a Zero Motorcycles system transplanted into it.

I had access to an donor bike and transplanted a 7.2kWhr "Long Brick" into my Vectrix. It was a challenge to mount a magnet on the end of the motor shaft in order to use the Zero motor encoder but it now works great!

I would say you cannot just replace their motor controller with a Sevcon.
