You can even do it (BMS reset) with the pack off the bike - have to with FX.

Sounds like your SR is only losing drive power for a few seconds, not complete power. Can you pull the logs and post them, showing a failure? Could be the controller resetting, that will show up in your logs. My wife's 2016 S just did that last week. Speedometer went to 0MPH until I keyed it off and back on. Which sucked, being on the freeway and all!

After i tried plugging the bike in to charge, it now will not go into an actual "off mode". When keyed there, the green charge light still displays(not plugged in) and the battery display still...
Charging mode disables run mode. Makes sense. Let your dealer diagnose with OEM, and maybe take out a loaner Zero from the dealer. Should get resolved sometime this year.

Hahahahaha! A loaner Zero. Good one. And later this year is quite optimistic. Third dealer has had mine since March, still isn't ready for pickup.

Reno Cycles and Gear general manager Garett Chissie offered up a loaner Zero S for a month while he had my DSR in for an ongoing warranty repair issue. Is that not normal?

That's the second time on 3 years of forum and Facebook Zero stories that I've heard of a loaner being offered. Zero doesn't provide loaners. Your dealer did that out of the kindness of their heart.

Three dealerships and almost 5 months and I still never get any sort of loaner. I have free motorcycle parking, but I pay $16 a day to park my car. I've paid over $1,500 for parking with my car while the bike was in the shop. Not to mention no HOV access and spending over an hour extra in traffic every day while it's down.

So i was going to have the bike towed in today and i went to check on it. Today it was completely powered off and i was able to do the software reset. After the reset it now has power again and seems to be working. I will prob still bring it in to get checked out though as I'm really concerned about its reliability now.

Try just getting the MBB logs, it's a lot faster and has less of a chance to mess up.

Try to reset the BMS. It probably won't help but it's at least worth a try.

I'm hoping someone can edit the procedure int the wiki to indicate if the bike is supposed to be turned on (am guessing the answer is "yes," but would like to know for certain.
I've always done BMS reset with the bike off.

I figured that was implicit in the instructions. But I've updated them, thank you:
