SR/F range display/calculation
« on: January 20, 2020, 03:06:08 AM »

I recently was playing with my SR/F display when I managed to get the range display in two places by mistake.

I took the bike out for a ride (one of the days it wasn't in the dealer or stuffed on a firmware update)

Guess what:  The two range displays were different.  Yup, only about 20% out: I can remember 26 and 22 miles left...

I suppose its all a bit random?  Or possibly the calculation is based on a log that only gets started when you program the gauges??

Anyone know?

From what I've read, with the old models at least, the range estimation is based on the trip average efficiency (Ah per mile) and that gets reset every time the bikes is charged to 100%. There's also a lifetime average efficiency but I don't think that's factored in to the estimation, it wouldn't make any sense for it to be.
