Hi!

I just designed a footpeg rubber to dampen some small vibrations and more comfortable ridings on my zero dsr 2020. It can be 3d printed at home with flexible filament.

That's great! I am not aware of any aftermarket activity around Zero footpegs, aside from one heavily cleated replacement set through Zero's dealer market (not sure how to describe a service whose online presence has evaporated for 6 months now).

I would like a set somehow, and wouldn't mind paying, because the stock pegs eat into my boot tread over time.

The design I have made fit well and looks nice, but they are not perfect because the original footpeg is not designed to fit a rubber. I use the central line to fit these, however they rest in the air for the most part of them.

You can print my design at any local 3d printing service and give them a try, although I don't know if the pegs from 2016 are the same they are using for 2020 models :)

Regarding use... I feel more comfortable with them (specially when using the front part of my feet because they are flat), but I am not sure if they are dampening vibrations or not :D

I just acquired a 2020 DSR with a Power Tank (slightly used! if you can believe it). But in any case, the casting for these pegs hasn't changed in several years that I've noticed. I believe the same part number is set.

All I'm looking for is reasonable traction in the wet without eating into my boot soles, so these seem fine.

I live in SF so the question isn't whether I can find a 3d printer on contract, but whether I can get it made without spending a fortune or pay membership dues on a shared fabrication shop.

Oh god, I would be more than happy to print a couple for you (the cost of printing two units for me is less than 5$!!!)... however I am not sure about the shipping to US because I am in Spain (maybe too pricey + taxes) :(

Thank you, but that does seem prohibitive.

I'm checking on online services, though, and finding that the closest materials I can find are plastics with one wood selection. Do someone know a recommendation that would suit this piece best? I'll make a shop inquiry later if not.

You need to use "flexible filament" to get a good result, not just plastic (PLA, ABS, PETG won't work at all). TPU is what you need.

Here you can get a quote with shipping to SF, but it will cost around 20$ each piece.

This design I have prepared is intented only for testing purposes... so I am not sure about spending 40$ on something that maybe won't fit your needs or your expectations. I will be working on more refined versions soon, so please be aware that this is not a final design and it is not a perfect fit to the peg. For someone that has a working 3d printer at home able to print flexible filament, this can be printed for 1$ or 2$ each piece.

I have a spool of flexible filament (TPU or TPE, can't remember) I haven't printed with yet. I can give it a shot and see how they come out. I'm in the US so shipping to anyone would be much cheaper if anyone was really interested.

Yeah, I ordered a set printed in TPU material, thanks. Price through Shapeways was about $70 after tax and shipping.

Note for others that you need to mirror the footpeg to match each side, unless I missed something obvious. I made a pair of them in Onshape, which is public but not as accessible as Thingiverse:

I have uploaded a new version, with more cutouts to make a better fit but with less height :D
Check thingiverse page to take a look at it

For those printing the first version, be aware that they can come loose and you could lose them!, make sure you press them very good at the center ;)

I'll fasten it to the peg, then, thanks for the notice.

I actually want more height, because my feet can't rest flat on the pegs. Honestly, I should probably swap them out for sport pegs again, and just wrap it in self-adhesive vinyl tape or something so I can get a little grippier support in the wet.

If you want some modifications after you receive them please let me know (more height, different shape, ...). I actually find them very comfortable to use. Yesterday I tried them again and now I don't want to ride without them :D
