EV Match Charging
« on: April 08, 2025, 10:31:43 PM »

I just recently discovered EV Match. Most are NOT shown on Plugshare. I found three new places that I thought had no place to charge, as they are only on EV Match. These are private homes that are mostly not listed on Plugshare, not even when set to show private homes.

All are Level Two. Most are J-1772, but some are just a 14-30R or 14-50R or whatever, so you could need to bring your own charging cable and adapters for a few of them. West Lake Tahoe, for an example. I modified a granny cable to make it very short for motorcycle use and can use extension cords on the input side if needed.

I discovered EV Match by the one that is mentioned on Plugshare, for Quincy, CA. No other charge stations in Quincy, but they are coming. They have a couple of Charegpoints at a park that are not yet in service, no juice wired to them yet.  Then I found there is another couple of places to charge up where I thought there was nothing. One is at the west side of Honey Lake and another on the west side of Lake Tahoe (this is the 14-30R).

These charge stations can be activated on the web or by using the EV Match app.

Perhaps I was the only one here that didn't know about it, but just in case, I thought I should mention it here.

See here for more info. and to get an account set up.

Exact addresses are only shown when you pay for the charge session.  They are all reasonably priced. Perhaps a little less than 30 cents per KWH.

One of the rules is you cannot hang around the place. Plug in and take a hike or whatever.

And if you live out in the middle of nowhere, where there are not any other charge stations, please set up your home for such use.
