I thought about buying online and having it shipped but, I bought from a dealer 330 miles away. Now there is a dealer 100 mile from me.

Looking back on it, it was certainly a leap of faith to order a $12K electric motorcycle online and take it drop shipped. But I didn't have the slightest hiccup with the bike. 100% reliable, so it worked out. Frankly that's a problem for dealers who make a good chunk of profits off maintenance and repairs. A maintenance and trouble-free bike is kind of a nightmare for dealers.

I predict that eventually Zero sells product the way Apple does, through Zero retailers. Not for a few years, though. Too soon to try now.

Harlan told me that he recently sold a ZERO to an 81 year old man. If that guy starts posting to this forum then I'll be knocked off the top rung of the forum's age ladder  :'(

Don't worry, :'(

if I will reach your age I hope I can still do such cross country and desert trips like you.

I admire your activities. 8)

54, West Nyack, NY, 2012 Zero S ZF6 #339

Finally took delivery yesterday, so I can officially answer the poll.  Had a great ride home from lower Manhattan - 35 miles, mostly at highway speeds, took only seven out of twelve bars on the ZF6.  A real thrill to be able to tap the throttle on the highway, and suddenly you are 100 yards ahead of the guy drifting into your lane!

Man, I am going to be heartbroken if this bike catches the "glitch" and goes out of commission.

The glitches seem to happen primarily after a couple thousand miles and several months of use.

I will be both surprised and dismayed if Zero has not finalized a fix and is in the process of correcting bikes before the end of September.

Enjoy your ZF6. Please do let us know if you have any trouble with the bike, but expect a resolution from Zero well before you have issues.

Ja, Speyer.  Beautiful church.  My wife is from Gruenstadt.

43 / Grand Junction, CO / Shopping for a 2012 DS (but want to sell 2002 GL1800 first)

have a solar system 10KW grid-tied.  e-bike with a solar system seems a no-brainer...

38/Tooele, UT/2012 DS Been following this post everyday for last 3 months waiting to hear a solid solution from Zero fixing the glitch before I buy. I have test driven the bike and totally love it. My dealer let me take the bike home over night 70 miles away to my house. Hoping to read soon that there is an official fix so I can put in my order.

Hey hey; 45 years young live in in Australia. Rides: Moto Guzzi V11 Rosso Mandello and proud Zero DS 2010 owner. Just registered last week. Have a small 1.5kW home PV system which I'll be feeding the bike with and planning to use the bike as storage so I can re-export energy at peak rates.

Mine's also partially fed by my 5kW home PV system

38 / Reading UK / 2010 S

Been using it as my commuter bike since the beginning of the year.
Had a motor fail after the first 60 miles but Zero shipped me a replacement, since then it's been plain sailing.

I think I must be the first UK owner on this thread.
